The Brewers Are in the World Series — and Bob Uecker Is Still Part of the Story

10/26/2026

One of the central storylines in our documentary UECK is the Milwaukee Brewers’ desire to win a World Series for Bob Uecker. Now, in a remarkable turn of events, the Brewers are actually playing in the World Series, and Bob’s legacy has become an important part of the national conversation surrounding the team.

Throughout the postseason, the Brewers have found touching ways to honor their longtime broadcaster. Manager Pat Murphy’s emotional “Letter from Bob” during the post-season celebrations is one memorable examples, and tributes to Uecker have continued into the World Series.

Before Game 1, hall of Fame legend Robin Yount gave a nod to UECK as he threw out the first pitch wearing the same sports coat that Bob wears in the movie poster.

The Associated Press, FOX Sports, MLB Network and MLB.com have all featured stories about Bob’s legacy and what this championship run means to the Brewers and their fans.

For those of us who spent years working on UECK, it’s been particularly moving to watch. The possibility of a World Series championship for Bob was woven into the film long before anyone knew how the 2026 season would unfold.

We’re now exploring the possibility of updating the film’s opening and closing to reflect the outcome of the Series. It’s a rare opportunity for a documentary’s central storyline to continue unfolding after the film has already been released.

Whatever happens, this postseason has been a remarkable tribute to a man who spent more than 50 years entertaining baseball fans in Milwaukee and far beyond.

We have a feeling Bob would have enjoyed every minute of it.
