In the 1970s, women were told to be nurses, secretaries, teachers — or wives.

But as the 70’s gave way to the 80’s, a group of fearless educators launched a revolution. When the first personal computers hit classrooms, most adults turned away. These women dove in, and changed the future of technology, education, and Silicon Valley forever.

Often the only women in the room, they found eachother and called themselves The DOLS: The Dirty Old Ladies of Software.

This is the story of nine women who shepherded a generation into the digital age – The world would never be the same.
